In a fight against a fighter who played dirty Maggie was inactivate and bed ridden.
By the end of the movie, Maggie asked Frankie, her trainer and manager, to kill her because she did not want to live the rest of her life in such a vulnerable condition. Frankie, once again, denied her but ended up changing his mind because he saw how much she was suffering.
